Soup dumpling, can't go wrong
Pork
You can get into the parking lot from Halsted. They recently repaved it too
It is right next to the restaurant on Halsted. It's free!
It's a good idea if you've got a group of more than, say, six people, especially on the weekend.
Yes, I believe so
Great place in Bridgeport to have Chinese breakfast, traditional northern Chinese, or Chinese American food. Been here multiple times and ordered take out and have yet to be disappointed. They have great lunch specials as well. I particularly like they have a good vegetable selection including vegetable potstickers.I seem to always eat my food too fast to take a proper picture, will try to take some pictures next time!
I had eaten catered food from here many times during college, and finally got to visit the restaurant. The menu is huge so how much you enjoy your food will probably depend on what you order. Every "classic" Chinese dish is super solid here, including the spicy beef noodles (not really spicy but noodles are super chewy), soup dumplings, mapo tofu, green beans, etc. One thing you MUST GET is the eggplant in garlic sauce. Best eggplant I've ever had.
Good food but the chicken wings were not well cooked.
A Chicago favorite. Authentic Chinese menu has intensely delicious items. Smoked pork pancake is outstanding. Best soup dumplings. Cumin dishes. Mmmm
Came on a Sunday around 9pm, ordered takeout, when we arrived they did not have our full order ready bc they forgot to add one item that we ordered and had to wait for it to be made. We ordered hot and sour soup, soup dumplings, house special potstickers, and noodles with pork and bamboo shoots. The hot and sour soup was disgusting, it tasted absolutely plain and was watery, paid $9 for a large, very disappointing. The one from Moon Palace in Chinatown is hands down the best. The soup dumplings were okay but would not order again. The house special pot stickers are not round but hand held sticks, they were okay but nothing special, just the shape. The pork and bamboo shoots noodles were just mediocre. The noodles were sticky and the cheap kind like when you over boil pasta and it sticks and becomes hard, I can tell its low quality noodles. I would not come back nor recommend. The outside and inside decor is nice, have patio seating and parking lot.
Traditional North China Food. BYOB. Very delicious
We saw this restaurant on Chicago’s Best and we really enjoyed it. I liked the dumplings better than the potstickers and the sweet and sour pork was delicious. The menu is difficult to read (wish I would have seen the takeaway menu). We also tried the fried dough and it was good. They could also upgrade serving dishes (plastic baskets, sauces in plastic cups with plastic spoons). Service was good. Prices were reasonable for portions and very huge variety of choices.
Pretty good place...Prices are a little high but covid- am I right (although, the menus were printed way b4 covid but I digress)?Food was good, pretty fast, lights brought me in since. NOTE:everyone's hours on Google are actually MORE Accurate than actual sinage; which is fukt. Pick it up small to med businesses, we can't beat the elites like this comrades!⛏️
This place is really good and well worth seeking out.since it style of cooking is northern Chinese.I was expecting colorful, well seasoned, artfully presented. I was surprised to find ordinary instead.Still good.Beautiful decor.Good Service.Pricing average.Parking off street and ample.AWARDED 2 YUMS ON A SCALE OF 3
As with all things that are gentrified, this is another spot that caters to the hipster crowd, but it does well in creating authentic Chinese based fare. It offers great options and reasonable prices. The spot is smaller than one would except and the booths are smaller as well, but it is a solid option when looking for some Chinese food in the area. I would visit it again
What a gem for northern Chinese food in Bridgeport! It is very homey, the staff is friendly, and very well priced for the portions and delicious food. I honestly loved it and am already looking forward to coming back! We split the beef noodle soup (best we have had in Chicago with plenty of noodles and not too much soup), the smoked duck crispy dough pouches and the long bread filled with meat. See photos as I’m not sure what they were called! Absolutely loved all of them and were so stuffed between two people for a total of $23 before tip.
Delicious dishes! There's surely a language deficit but it didn't hinder the service. The service was attentive and they did follow up on how we enjoyed the food. Casual dining with very clean interior. Free parking which is a plus! Located directly across from the police station. Easy to find!A must try!
We loved this place. The parking lot is awesome, the service was great, and we loved everything we ordered. We got the beef noodle stew, the soup dumplings and potstickers and they were all delicious! Want to come back and try everything else on the menu.
We came here on the night of Chinese New year because we were afraid Chinatown was going to to be packed that night but we were not disappointed! It's a very cozy place with a fireplace and a free parking lot! We enjoyed all the dishes from the rice cakes to the seafood soup with homemade noodles. We liked that the flavor was on the lighter side (good light) reflecting cuisine from northern China. Delicious and authentic, great reasons to come back!
I frequent this superb restaurant every couple of days since I like the special atmosphere that is outline this place. The crew is extremely loyal and skilfull. The service is certainly quick. Most important, the food you get is excellent. I visited more than once and I was always joyful. The expense is modest. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
"Good food is tasty, hearty and a nice variety."
The food is definitely superb! I couldn't say this is the best northern Chinese food(only been to this one.), but it absolutely represent the northern cuisine style! Free parking lot on the side is a plus. Great service too!
Great food great service. We sat outside and it started to rain hard, but they did a great job and took care of us.
Wonderful Food from the North of China. This isn’t like other Chinese restaurants you’ve been to. Try the casseroles - lamb and veg simmered together until the veg (usually turnip) is butter-soft and sweet and full of rich lamb flavor. Their potstickers are amazing, as are the pork pancakes. I haven’t had anything here that wasn’t wonderful. Going with a group is always fun - order lots of dishes and eat family style at one of the tables with a lazy Susan in the center. (In the winter, make reservations for a group of 5 or more, and ask for a table by the fireplace, an added comfort!). This is amazing.
